- March 14 from 3-4 p.m., for Adapting Arts Curriculum for Students with Special needs: My Year with Music! Words! Opera! Register now at http://bit.ly/musicwordsopera
Join speech language pathologist and opera singer Lisa Pierce-Goldstein, as she describes how she adapted Opera America's Music! Words! Opera! curriculum for her students in substantially separate classes for students with autism. The journey begins with teaching the students about opera, continues as they watch and learn about specific operas, such as Hansel and Gretel and Aida and ends with the students creating and performing their own original works. Webinar attendees will learn about the visual supports, hands on activities, and engagement strategies used to help students with complex communication needs participate in both the "listen and discover" and the "create and produce" parts of the program.
